Wall Screen Projection

After going to light night in Leeds and also seeing one of my mate do some visual DJing I wanted to try do do something similar but with my own king of style added to it. So with the new plug in that I have in After Effects I tried to create a wall kind of model that can split in to multiple sections so that I can manipulate the different sections of the wall. Unfortunately I didn't really know how to do this so I went onto youtube to try and find a tutorial that would help me do what I wanted to do.

I found a video on youtube called 'Element 3D tutorial: Video Wall Screen' that told me that to get the effect that I wanted I had to go on Illustrator and create a grid, and once the grid had been create you copy and paste it into after effects. This is how I could create my wall projection effect, I placed the grid into the element 3D, the plug in for after effects, and then I extruded it and then beveled the edges to give it a sleeker look. I then experimented with the keyframes and changed the positioning of the wall so that it's not just static.

After doing all that I then had to fine something to project onto the wall so I went back on to youtube and gathered up some different light show animations so that I could use them on the wall I created.
To place them on the wall I used the video as a UV texture map of the wall and wrapped the light animations round it so that it would look like it had been projected on to the wall, And this was the outcome of my screen wall projection.
